Who We Are
LLS Workers Union was founded in 2016 by a dedicated group of interpreters advocating for better work conditions at Language Line Solutions. We are proud to be affiliated with the Communications Workers of America (CWA)
We are building a union based on solidarity, fairness, and justice for every single interpreter. When we stand alone, it’s easy for our voices to be ignored but when we stand together, we are powerful!
Why a union?
LLS interpreters have historically been paid low wages and given substandard health benefits that do not cover most health services needed. Most recently, LLS has been severely reducing work hours. A union can keep the company accountable and help workers bargain for higher wages, better and more stable work conditions, and improved benefits for all LLS interpreters. When we stand together through our union, we have the power to fight for a better workplace for everyone.
Mission Statement
We are Language Line Solutions Interpreters, and we are forming a union to win the better pay, benefits, and working conditions that we deserve. Interpreters provide an essential service to our communities and to clients, and our work should be recognized and compensated. Through strength in numbers, and with better work conditions and benefits, we can ensure that both new and seasoned interpreters will remain in the field and continue providing a high standard of service for communities everywhere.
